lifeGroup on Sunday!

First of all, so we don't forget, Thursday night is set aside to paint the children's ministry area! Bring your rollers and strong arms and get ready for a fun night. Also, ladies, if you are gonna be there, could you please bring some treats for the painters? Suggestions of anything chocolate were made last Sunday..... :) Newt is on call this whole week, so we won't be there that night.

Sunday is our meeting day! We will meet at our house again, at Big Creek Fish Hatchery; Newt gets off work at 4:30, so plan to come any time around 4-4:30. We figured potluck would be the easiest since we're getting a later start than normal (and he won't have time to fire up the BBQ!)
Just respond to this blog on what you can bring and if you can come. We will provide plates, cups, silverware, and crock pot meatballs.

We have lots to talk about on Sunday, but one thing we will mention now, is that the nursery is no longer the responsibility of the lifeGroups. Suzy will be taking that over again, so she is in charge of finding workers.

See you Sunday ( or Wednesday, for you Knappa people!)

Serving on Date Night

Please read and respond to this with a servants heart.... Our lifeGroup DID agree to host the Date Night Challenge and hosting means that we WILL provide and cover the child care, up to and including 5th grade. This means nursery 0-4, and probably two groups for the older kids; so we obviously need all of us (that have had background checks done) to serve. On a positive note, the program will be burned to DVD and will be shown at another time for those of us covering child care. So, we need everyone to respond to this blog or phone Newt and Carol ASAP and tell us where you can serve; we need the men to serve as ushers and greeters. Carol will be in the nursery and Newt will be greeting/usher. Thanks guys.

SUPER lifeGroup!

Wow! What a great time with a great group of people! We missed some of our regulars, but enjoyed visitors and new attenders. Welcome to Duane and Carla who want to be part of our group! We had 15 adults and 9 kids! Thank God for beautiful weather and great fellowship!

This is our week to serve, so here's a reminder:
Thursday nursery: Leann and Janae; remember to be there by 6pm.
Thursday coffee: Michelle
Sunday nursery: Carla and Randi; be ready for the kids by 10.
Sunday coffee: Johna and Karin (hope I spelled your name right!)

We went over rules for the nursery; they will be posted in the nursery, but here's a rundown:
Nursery ages: Sunday 0-3 Thursday 0-4
Make sure everyone signs their kids in and out. Make sure cards are given out and returned.
Suzy's number for the monitor is 00 if needed. Make sure you know how to use the monitor.
Paper work: completely filled out with first/last names of servers/visitors. Report any
incident, no mater how minor it may seem. Report any parent complaints.
Turn completed forms in to Kathy B box downstairs.
Children are to be picked up only by those listed on information sheets.
All infants under a year old must be with at least one adult on the infant side. So we may need
3 servers if this situation arises; let your group leader know.
Per newLife policies: no food allowed in nursery except bottles or sippy cups with milk/juice.
Only the women serving that day are to be in the nursery
Pick up garbage/tidy up before leave; garbage goes in big can by the upstairs back door.
Tell Suzy or Teresa of any needed supplies.
Any questions/concerns contact Nursery/Sunday school coordinator, Miss Suzy J!

Remember this Sunday night at 6pm at the church is the Date Night Special! You won't want to miss this!

Prayer requests: Please pray for our grandson JR who will be having some neurological surgery on Wed morning. Pray for an easy procedure, quick healing and no infection. Pray for peace for JR and Cassie, Jena and Kenny. Khayla also asks for prayer concerning a family meeting on Tuesday. How can be pray for you? Please post requests.

Our next meeting will be March 4, again at our home in Big Creek (Newton has standby and can't leave) at 4:00. More to follow!

lifeGroup is this Sunday!

Just a reminder that our lifeGroup meets this Sunday, 4 pm at the Langston home at Big Creek Fish Hatchery. We will BBQ salmon, and so far Janae is bringing garlic bread, Khayla a pasta salad, and Carla desert. It will be a great time of fellowship, meeting new people from Knappa! and getting our serving week lined up. PLEASE respond to this blog or e-mail if you can or cannot come and what you can bring! Thanks!
